Silvi Rouskin, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at Harvard Medical School and a pioneer in the study of RNA structure and its implications for human disease. Her laboratory investigates how RNA molecules fold in living cells and how these dynamic structures regulate gene expression in both human and viral systems. Dr. Rouskin has made pivotal discoveries in understanding the structural complexity of viral genomes, including HIV-1 and SARS-CoV-2. Her work integrates chemical probing, computational biology, and machine learning to reveal how RNA conformations impact infection, gene regulation, and the potential for therapeutic targeting
