Dr. He (Vincent) Zhang is a computational scientist specializing in algorithms and AI for RNA biology and therapeutics. He is the cofounder and CTO of Raina Biosciences, an MIT spinout advancing mRNA drug development through generative AI and synthetic biology.
Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Oregon State University and began his career at Baidu Research (Silicon Valley), where he worked as a Research Scientist and later served as tech lead of the computational biology team. His contributions include the development of linear-time RNA secondary structure prediction algorithms that improve both computational efficiency and predictive accuracy. His research has been published in leading venues such as PNAS, Nucleic Acids Research (NAR), and ISMB. Dr. Zhang is also the first author of the Linear Design algorithm, published in Nature , which represents a major advancement in AI-driven mRNA design by enhancing vaccine stability and immunogenicity.
