Ailong Ke
Professor in Biophysics and Biochemistry, Yale University
Dr. Ailong Ke received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2002. He then completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at UC Berkeley under Nobel Laureate Jennifer Doudna. In 2005, Dr. Ke joined the faculty at Cornell University, where he rose to the rank of Full Professor by 2017. He recently relocated his laboratory to Yale University.
A leading expert in RNA biology, Dr. Ke is best known for his groundbreaking contributions to the mechanistic understanding of CRISPR-Cas systems. He holds multiple patents in CRISPR-Cas technologies and genome editing.
His scientific achievements have been widely recognized, including the Cornell Provost Research Innovation Award (2018), the RNA Society Mid-Career Award (2019), the Robert J. Appel Professorship at Cornell (2022), and election as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (2024).
