Associate Professor, Boston University
Daniel Cifuentes, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry & CellBiology at Boston University. His research program focuses on the fundamental mechanisms of post-transcriptional regulation, specifically how microRNA andRNA-binding proteins shape vertebrate development and viral replication. Dr. Cifuentes earned his Ph.D. from the University of Barcelona and conducted his postdoctoral training at Yale University, where he discovered theDicer-independent microRNA processing pathway. Currently, his lab integrates high-throughput genetics and proteomics, including the development of the novel RBPscan platform, to decode the rules of RNA-protein interactions in vivo.
